"Him say um all the same one man, dat p'liceman," Jimmy interpreted.
Little Dickensen was little, and what of Miss Travis, he felt sorry for having asked the question.
The policeman was sorry for him and stepped into the breach. "I fancy there may be something in his story. I'll take him up to the captain for examination. Tell him to come along with me, Jimmy."
Jimmy indulged in more throaty spasms, and Imber grunted and looked satisfied.
"But ask him what he said, Jimmy, and what he meant when he took hold of my arm."
So spoke Emily Travis, and Jimmy put the question and received the answer. "Him say you no afraid," said Jimmy.
Emily Travis looked pleased.
“Him say you no skookum, no strong, all the same very soft like little baby. Him break you, in um two hands, to little pieces. Him t'ink much funny, very strange, how you can be mother of men so big, so strong, like dat p'liceman.”

We cannot be satisfied as long as the Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and the Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no we are not satisfied and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream. 21. When We make the people taste mercy after some adversity has touched them, they begin to scheme against Our revelations. Say, “God is swifter in scheming.” Our envoys are writing down what you scheme. 21Қачонки одамларга уларга етган зарардан сўнг раҳматни тотдирсак, баногоҳ, уларда оятларимиз ҳақида макр бўлур. 40. Among them are those who believe in it, and among them are those who do not believe in it. Your Lord is fully aware of the mischief-makers. 40Улардан унга иймон келтирадиганлар ҳам бор ва улардан унга иймон келтирмайдиганлар ҳам бор. Роббинг эса, бузғунчиларни яхши билгувчи зотдир.
42. And among them are those who listen to you. But can you make the deaf hear, even though they do not understand? 42Ва улардан сенга қулоқ тутадиганлари ҳам бор. Агар ақл ишлатмасалар, карқулоқларга сен эшиттира олурмисан?!
46. Whether We show you some of what We promise them, or take you, to Us is their return. God is witness to everything they do. 46Ёки сенга уларга ваъда қилганимизнинг баъзисини кўрсатамиз, ёки сени вафот эттирамиз. Бас, уларнинг қайтишлари Бизгадир. Сўнгра нима қилаётганларига Аллоҳ шоҳиддир.
50. Say, “Have you considered? If His punishment overtakes you by night or by day, what part of it will the guilty seek to hasten?” 50Сен:«Хабар беринг­чи, агар Унинг азоби сизларга кечаси ёки кундузи келса, жиноятчилар унинг нимасига шошилмоқдалар?» деб айт.
61. You do not get into any situation, nor do you recite any Quran, nor do you do anything, but We are watching over you as you undertake it. Not even the weight of an atom, on earth or in the sky, escapes your Lord, nor is there anything smaller or larger, but is in a clear record. 61Қайси ҳолда бўлсанг, Қуръондан нимани тиловат этсанг, ишлардан қай бирини қилсанг, албатта, биз ўшанга киришаётган пайтингларда сизларга гувоҳмиз. На ер юзида ва на осмонларда зарра миқдоридаги, ундан кичикроқ ёки каттароқ нарса Роббингдан махфий бўла олмас, балки очиқ­ойдин китобдадир.
68. And they said, “God has taken a son.” Be He glorified. He is the Self-Sufficient. His is everything in the heavens and everything on earth. Do you have any proof for this? Or are you saying about God what you do not know? 68Улар:«Аллоҳ фарзанд тутди», дедилар. У (бундан) покдир. У беҳожатдир. Осмонлардаги нарсалар ва ердаги нарсалар Уникидир. Бу ҳақда сизнинг ҳеч қандай далилингиз йўқ­ку! Аллоҳга нисбатан билмаган нарсангизни айтаверасизми?  
70. Some enjoyment in this world; then to Us is their return; then We will make them taste the severe punishment on account of their disbelief. 70Бу дунёда (бир оз) фойдаланиш, кейин Бизга қайтишлари бор. Сўнгра Биз уларга, куфр келтириб ўтганлари учун, шиддатли азобни тоттирамиз.
81. And when they threw, Moses said, “What you produced is sorcery, and God will make it fail. God does not foster the efforts of the corrupt.” 81Улар ташлаганларида, Мусо: «Сиз келтирган нарса сеҳрдир. Албатта, Аллоҳ уни ботил қилур. Зеро, Аллоҳ бузғунчиларнинг ишини ўнгламас.
85. They said, “In God we have put our trust. Our Lord, do not make us victims of the oppressive people.” 85Улар: «Аллоҳгагина таваккал қилдик. Роббимиз, бизни золим қавмларга фитна қилиб қўйма.
87. And We inspired Moses and his brother, “Settle your people in Egypt, and make your homes places of worship, and perform the prayer, and give good news to the believers.” 87Биз Мусога ва унинг биродарига: «Икковингиз қавмингиз учун Мисрда уйлар тайёрланг, уйларингизни қибла қилиб, намозни тўкис адо этинглар ва мўминларга хушхабар бер», деб ваҳий юбордик.
91. Now? When you have rebelled before, and been of the mischief-makers? 91Эндими! Олдин исён қилган ва бузғунчилардан бўлган эдинг­ку?!
