 Curiosity pricked me.  "Where shall I be sent," thought I, "if not to Petersburg?"  I never took my eyes off my father's pen as it travelled slowly over the paper.  Петурбургга юбормаса қаёққа юборар экан? Шуни билиш орзуси мени қийнар эди. Икки кўзим отамнинг имиллаб қимирлаётган перосида эди.
At last he finished his letter, put it with my commission into the same cover, took off his spectacles, called me, and said--  "This letter is addressed to Andréj Karlovitch R., my old friend and comrade. Оқибат хат битди. Отам уни паспорт билан бир конвертга солди, кўзойнагини олиб, мени ёнига чақирди ва:”Мана сенга хат, буни менинг қадрдон ўртоғим ва дўстим Андрей Карлович Р. га бер.

1. The revelation of the Book is from God, the Mighty and Wise.

1Бу китобнинг нозил қилиниши азизу ҳаким бўлган Аллоҳ томонидандир.

2. We sent down to you the Book with the truth, so serve God, devoting your religion to Him. 2Албатта, Биз сенга китобни ҳақ ила нозил қилдик. Бас, сен Аллоҳга Унга динни холис қилган ҳолингда ибодат эт. 
41. We sent down upon you the Book for mankind in truth. He who follows guidance does so for the good of his soul. And he who strays in error does so to its detriment. You are not their overseer. 41Албатта, Биз одамлар учун сенга китобни ҳақ ила туширдик. Бас, ким ҳидоятга юрса, ўзига фойда. Ким залолатга кетса, ўзига зарар. Сен уларга вакил­қўриқчи эмассан.
68. And the Trumpet will be sounded, whereupon everyone in the heavens and the earth will be stunned, except whomever God wills. Then it will be sounded another time, whereupon they will rise up, looking on. 68Ва сурга пуфланди. Осмонлару ерда ким бўлса, қулаб ўлди. Магар Аллоҳ хоҳлаганларгина қолди. Сўнгра унга яна бир бор пуфланди. Бас, тўсатдан улар туриб интизор бўлурлар.
69. And the earth will shine with the Light of its Lord; and the Book will be put in place; and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought in; and Judgment will be passed among them equitably, and they will not be wronged. 69Ва ер Робби нури ила ёришди. Китоб қўйилди. Пайғамбарлар ва гувоҳлар келтирилди. Улар орасида ҳақ ила ҳукм чиқарилди. Уларга зулм қилинмади.

And as this year’s theme reminds us, press freedom represents the very lifeblood of human rights. Matbuot erkinligi demokratiya va adolat asosidir. 18. And warn them of the Day of Imminence, when the hearts are at the throats, choking them. The evildoers will have no intimate friend, and no intercessor to be obeyed. 18Сен уларни яқинлашгувчи кундан огоҳлантир. Ўшанда жонлар халқумга келиб, ғам­ғуссага тўлиб турарлар. Золимлар учун ҳеч бир дўст ҳам, итоат қилинадиган шафоатчи ҳам йўқ. 
20. God judges with justice, while those whom they invoke besides Him cannot judge with anything. It is God who is the Hearing, the Seeing. 20Аллоҳ ҳақ ила ҳукм қилур. Ундан ўзга илтижо қилаётганлари эса, ҳеч нарса билан ҳукм қилмаслар. Албатта, Аллоҳнинг Ўзи ўта эшитгувчи ва ўта кўргувчи зотдир. 
66. Say, “I was prohibited from worshiping those you invoke besides God, now that clear revelations have come to me from my Lord; and I was commanded to submit to the Lord of the Worlds.” 66Сен: «Албатта, мен ўзимга Роббимдан очиқ­ойдин ҳужжатлар келган пайтда сиз илтижо этаётган нарсаларга ибодат қилишдан қайтарилганман ва оламларнинг Роббига таслим бўлишга амр этилдим», деб айт. 
70. Those who call the Book a lie, and what We sent Our messengers with—they will surely know. 70Китобни ва Биз Пайғамбарларимиз ила юборган нарсани ёлғонга чиқарганлар тезда билурлар. 
71. When the yokes are around their necks, and they will be dragged by the chains. 71Ўшанда улар бўйинларида кишанлар ва занжирлар ила тортилурлар. 
11. Then He turned to the sky, and it was smoke, and said to it and to the earth, “Come, willingly or unwillingly.” They said, “We come willingly.” 11Сўнгра тутун ҳолидаги осмонга юзланиб, унга ва ерга: «Икковингиз ихтиёр қилган ҳолингизда ёки мажбур бўлган ҳолингизда келинг!» деди. Икковлари: «Ихтиёр қилган ҳолимизда келдик», дедилар.
36. When a temptation from the Devil provokes you, seek refuge in God; He is the Hearer, the Knower. 36Агар сени шайтон васвасасидан бир васваса тутса, Аллоҳдан паноҳ сўра. Албатта, У зот ўта эшитгувчи ва ўта билгувчи зотдир.
41. Those who reject the Reminder when it has come to them—it is an invincible Book. 41Албатта, ўзларига Зикр келганда унга куфр келтирганлар... Албатта, У азиз китобдир. 42Унинг олдидан ҳам, ортидан ҳам ботил келмас. У ўта ҳикматли ва ўта мақталган зотнинг туширганидир.
45. We gave Moses the Book, but disputes arose concerning it. Were it not for a prior decree from your Lord, judgment would have been pronounced between them. But they are in perplexing doubt concerning it. 46Ким солиҳ амал қилса, ўзига фойда. Ким ёмонлик қилса, ўзига зарар. Роббинг бандаларга зулм қилгувчи эмас.
14. They became divided only after knowledge came to them, out of resentment among themselves. Were it not for a predetermined decision from your Lord, judgment would have been pronounced between them. Indeed, those who were made to inherit the Book after them are in grave doubt about it. 14Улар фақат ўзларига илм келгандан кейингина, ўзаро ҳасад­адоват қилишиб тафриқага тушдилар. Агар Роббингдан (азоблашни) маълум муддатгача (қолдириш) ҳақида сўз ўтган бўлмаганида, улар орасида албатта ҳукм чиқарилган бўлур эди. Албатта, улардан кейин китобга ворис қилинганлар у ҳақида шак­ шубҳададирлар.
15. To this go on inviting, and be upright as you were commanded, and do not follow their inclinations, and say, “I believe in whatever Book God has sent down, and I was commanded to judge between you equitably. God is our Lord and your Lord. We have our deeds, and you have your deeds. Let there be no quarrel between us and you. God will bring us together, and to Him is the ultimate return.” 15Бас, шунинг учун ҳам даъват қил, ўзингга амр қилинганидек, мустақим тур ва уларнинг ҳавои нафсларига эргашма ҳамда: «Мен Аллоҳ нозил қилган ҳар бир китобга иймон келтирдим ва орангизда адолат ўрнатишга амр қилиндим. Аллоҳ бизнинг Роббимиз, сизнинг ҳам Роббингиз. Бизнинг амалларимиз ўзимиз учун, сизнинг амалларингиз ўзингиз учун. Биз билан сизнинг орамизда жанжал(га ўрин) йўқ. Аллоҳ бизларни жамлайди ва қайтиш ёлғиз Унинг Ўзигадир», деб айт.
17. It is God who revealed the Book with the truth, and the Balance. And what will make you realize that perhaps the Hour is near? 17Аллоҳ ҳақ ила китобни ва (адолат) тарозуни нозил қилган зотдир. Қаердан билурсан, эҳтимол (қиёмат) соати яқиндир!
